Dive Insight:
Although Tri Star operates several c-store banners, the retailer appears to be all-in on Twice Daily. Tri Star’s latest foodservice initiative coincides with its plan to convert all of its Sudden Service and Southern Traders c-store banners throughout Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama to the Twice Daily brand by 2026.
Each newly converted Twice Daily convenience store will open with made-to-order foodservice in addition to its existing hot meals and fresh deli offerings, according to the announcement.
“Our guests know to expect fresh, quality food when visiting any of our locations, and we’re really excited to start introducing this new made-to-order option throughout Middle Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky,” Dawn Boulanger, vice president of marketing for Tri Star Energy, said in the announcement. “We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality experience to guests, and we know this will be another way for guests to enjoy something custom-made and fresh all day.”
Twice Daily’s sub sandwiches come in several varieties, including ham and cheese; turkey and cheese; Italian; Nashville hot chicken; Philly cheesesteak; turkey bacon; and Adobo chicken. Its regular sandwiches include roast beef and cheese; crispy chicken; ham and cheese with honey mustard; and the honey bacon club.
Founded in 2000, Nashville, Tennessee-based Tri Star Energy owns and operates over 200 c-stores and supplies fuel to wholesale trade channels in 17 states. Besides Twice Daily, its c-store banners include Sudden Service, Southern Traders, Little General and Maverick Quick Shop. The retailer also owns 20 White Bison Coffee shops throughout Tennessee and Alabama.
