TravelCenters of America named Robert Grace as its new senior vice president of corporate development earlier this month, a company spokesperson confirmed.
In his new position, Grace will oversee TA’s strategic growth, the spokesperson said.
Grace moved over to TA after spending the past 16 and a half years with parent company BP, according to his LinkedIn bio. He joined the oil and gas major in 2007 as a chemist and went on to hold numerous positions with the company, including B2B commercial offers manager, marketing director for BP’s Mexico division, business improvement manager, and insights and portfolio manager for BP’s city and corporate integrated solutions division.
In June 2022, Grace became BP’s vice president of insights and customer value proposition — a role he held until this month. In that position, Grace worked with BP’s Regions, Cities and Solutions team, which offers integrated energy and mobility solutions to help cities and industries reduce carbon emissions while creating business opportunities.
Grace is one of several former BP executives who have shifted to TA since the two companies merged last summer. Other notable moves included CEO Debi Boffa, CFO Babu Rajalingam, President and Chairman Gregory Franks and Chief People Officer Brian Zellner.
Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America is one of the largest truckstop companies in the U.S. with over 300 locations across 44 states and territories. TA is owned by oil major BP, which also operates c-stores under the Thorntons, Amoco and Ampm banners.
