Dive Brief:
- Rebel Convenience Stores debuted its Hatch Chicken Co. foodservice concept inside a newly built c-store at 3204 N. Teneya Way in Las Vegas on Sept. 20, Nick Gauger, senior manager for delivery and loyalty at Rebel, confirmed via email.
- The restaurant concept has been positively received so far, and is expected to expand to 20 additional sites in 2025, Gauger said.
- By developing its own QSR concept that taps into the popular chicken sandwich trend, Rebel believes it’s hit on a concept to drive meal traffic across its chain.
Dive Insight:
Hatch Chicken’s menu includes a variety of chicken tenders, sandwiches and sides like mac and cheese, biscuits and waffle fries. It also offers lemonade and a line of organic teas. Customers can order in store or digitally for pickup or delivery.
“We are thrilled with the initial reception of Hatch and are already planning for expansion,” said Gauger. “We believe in the potential of this concept.”
Rebel chose the Teneya Way site to house its initial Hatch Chicken because the location “offers a perfect balance of accessibility and community reach,” Gauger noted. It’s near residential neighborhoods, a hospital and a freeway, meaning it’s easily accessible by commuters, healthcare workers and residents alike.
“As one of our premier locations, we wanted to elevate the experience by introducing a fresh and unique food concept,” said Gauger.
The QSR concept offers a value meal that includes two tenders, waffle fries and a drink for $5, according to signs on the site. This echoes value deals from other c-store competitors recently, including Circle K and EG America.
Rebel, which is based in Las Vegas, currently operates more than 100 stores in multiple parts of the country, including the Southwest, Northeast and Midwest, as well as Florida.
