Dive Brief:

• QuikTrip will open its first location in Nevada later this year, a spokesperson for the convenience store chain confirmed.
• The store will be located at the northwest corner of Lamb Boulevard and Nexus Way, about 12 miles north of the Las Vegas Strip, according to a memo from the City of North Las Vegas. The 8,292-square-foot location will feature 68 parking spots and 10 semi-truck spaces, according to the memo.
• Arriving in Nevada will not only mark QuikTrip’s 18th state of operation, but the c-store retailer’s westernmost location as the company continues to grow its footprint around the U.S.

Dive Insight:

QuikTrip’s arrival in Nevada has been a long time coming. It acquired the location, which is set to open late this year, for about $5.7 million back in April 2020, according to the location’s property deed. 

Besides the many parking spaces in the forecourt, QuikTrip’s first Nevada location will be equipped with 10 fueling positions for passenger vehicles and eight for semi trucks, according to the memo. Inside the store, customers will find the brand’s standard QT Kitchen program, which features a full-service kitchen that serves made-to-order meals, pizza by the lice, roller grill items, specialty drinks, frozen options and grab-and-go items, the company’s spokesperson said.

The new location will support upwards of 25 new jobs, QuikTrip’s spokesperson said. The company will begin hiring for this store in late 2024.

“We look forward to bringing QT to the Las Vegas community,” QuikTrip’s spokesperson said.

Competing convenience stores near QuikTrip’s first Nevada store include Terrible’s and Chevron locations next door, as well as a Maverik, Shell and Green Valley Grocery c-store down the street. There are also several 7-Eleven locations in the area.

Founded in 1958, Tulsa, Oklahoma-based QuikTrip operates around 1,000 convenience stores across 17 states and employs more than 28,000 people.
