QuikTrip has named Bryan Williams as its new chief information officer, a company spokesperson confirmed on Monday.
Williams has held numerous positions with QuikTrip since joining the convenience retailer as a programmer analyst in 2005, according to his LinkedIn bio. Notable roles have included director of business engagement, director of corporate development and, most recently, director of technology.
QuikTrip’s spokesperson declined to share further information about Williams’ promotion, including his official start date. According to Williams’ LinkedIn bio, he became QuikTrip’s CIO sometime this month.
As QuikTrip’s director of technology, Williams led the c-store retailer’s infrastructure and network engineering team, as well as its enterprise architecture division, according to his LinkedIn bio. Among other responsibilities, those teams oversee QuikTrip’s technology architecture and the implementation and governance of the company’s enterprise-wide systems, Williams noted in his LinkedIn bio.
Additionally, Williams led the development of QuikTrip’s information technology initiatives in conjunction with the company’s broader business strategies, his bio notes.
QuikTrip declined to comment when asked about the departure of Gina Hitz, who had been CIO and vice president of IT for the past decade as part of a 30-year career with the c-store retailer, according to Hitz’s LinkedIn bio.
Founded in 1958, Tulsa, Oklahoma-based QuikTrip operates around 1,000 convenience stores across 17 states and employs more than 31,000 people.
