Guest experience and loyalty vendor Paytronix has named board member Jeff Hindman as its new CEO, former CEO Andrew Robbins said in an interview.
Hindman officially took over as CEO on June 20, said Robbins, who has moved into the executive chairman role.
As CEO, Hindman will lead Paytronix into its seven-year plan, which the company expects will end with it reaching 1,000 employees, Robbins said. Hindman will also lead Paytronix’s go-to-market strategy and international expansion during this time.
Hindman has 15 years of retail technology experience, according to his LinkedIn bio. He joins Paytronix from smart solution vendor Snap One, where he held numerous executive roles over the course of seven years, including chief revenue officer, executive vice president and president of new markets. Before that, Hindman held several positions from 2008 to 2016 with technology platform NCR Corp., including vice president of hosted solutions and vice president of hospitality.
“Just as we were thinking through the next run of growth over the next seven years, it turns out we had the perfect candidate,” Robbins said. “He actually ran NCR Hosted Solutions, which does gift cards, loyalty programs and online ordering. So he's one of a handful of people on the planet that has run a version of Paytronix.”
While Robbins will first focus on creating a seamless transition with Hindman, his role will eventually shift to focus on product, including overseeing the company’s journey with artificial intelligence, he said.
“This lets me really focus on what I love, which is product and making customers happy,” Robbins said.
In a statement, Hindman noted that Paytronix has “so many advancements launching in market, including AI solutions that help our clients personalize offers to their guests in real time, meaningful infrastructure and security enhancements, and key global partnerships that extend our ability to serve this dynamic and ever-evolving industry.”
Newton, Massachusetts-based Paytronix works with more than 1,800 brands across 34,000 locations. Its customers in the c-store industry include Maverik, Pump & Pantry, Cal’s Convenience, Parker’s, Alltown Fresh, Yesway, United Dairy Farmers, QuickChek and more.
