Convenience retailer Neon Marketplace has named Adi Dhandhania as its CEO, according to a Monday announcement.
In his role, Dhandhania will lead the seven-store retailer, focusing on its growth strategy and brand evolution, according to the announcement. He has also been named to the company’s board of directors.
The move is Dhandhania’s first executive leadership role within the c-store industry. Prior to joining Neon, he held numerous positions with gaming and hospitality company Bally’s Interactive, including chief operating officer, senior vice president of strategy and initiative and vice president of strategy and corporate development. Before Bally’s, Dhandhania worked as a director and then head of strategy at wireless device services company Brightstar Corp.
From 2010 to 2016, Dhandhania worked in numerous roles for software company IGT (formerly GTECH), from engineer to director of corporate accounts and retail expansion. While at IGT, he led retail sales and operations for the company in New Jersey, serving more than 7,000 retailers, including convenience store and gas station chains and independent locations.
Dhandhania also has firsthand experience working in family owned and operated convenience stores, according to the announcement. He was an early investor in Neon Marketplace.
“The Board and I are confident that Adi is the right person to lead Neon at this exciting time in our growth to build valuable momentum as we scale up the business,” said Jim Procaccianti, president and CEO of Procaccianti Companies, Neon’s parent company.
