NATSO announced on Wednesday that it has named Joe Zietlow, industry and trade association manager for Kwik Trip, as the new chairman of its board of directors. He succeeds Jim Hays, owner of Dodge City Petro, in the post.
Zietlow has worked in the c-store industry for more than 20 years with Kwik Trip, a c-store operator with over 800 locations, according to NATSO’s website.
“I’m pleased to play this leadership role in 2024 as NATSO continues its great work to advance the issues that are critical to the future success of all NATSO members while delivering the resources that help travel centers to be profitable today,” said Zietlow.
Matt Mildenberger, president and CEO of Mittens Travel Centers, was selected as the new chair-elect.
The trade association for truck stops and travel centers also announced that Debi Boffa, CEO of Travel Centers of America; Ted Augustine, president of 24/7 Travel Stores; Herb Hargraves, COO for Victory Marketing, which owns Sprint Mart; and Bruce Morgan, Chief Commercial Officer of QuikTrip have all also joined the board for 2024.
Marko Zaro, CEO at Road Ranger, will continue to serve as secretary and treasurer, and Heather DeBaillie, vice president of marketing for CAT Scale Company and Iowa 80 Group, will continue to serve as the NATSO Foundation chairman.
The new slate of officers was chosen at the company’s spring Board of Directors meeting on Feb. 22, a company spokesperson confirmed via email.
NATSO represents more than 2,200 travel centers and truckstops, owned by over 260 corporate entities. It influences public opinion and governmental action on a variety of highway and truck stop issues, and connects members to important resources and hosting an annual convention.
