- Maverik has partnered with trucking technology company TruckSmarter to offer commercial haulers more convenience and fuel savings on their routes, according to a recent announcement.
- Drivers who use the TruckSmarter mobile app can now receive fueling discounts of up to $1.50 per gallon across truck and RV lanes at more than 80 Intermountain West Maverik locations. The app also lets drivers find and book loads and improve their cash flows.
- The partnership is an extension of Maverik’s existing fuel discounts, which include 2- and 10-cent savings per gallon for its Adventure Club and Adventure Club Nitro loyalty members, respectively.

This partnership with Maverik is TruckSmarter’s first foray into the convenience retailing space, Kerby Cate, director of commercial fuels marketing for Maverik, said in the announcement. Once drivers locate a Maverik along their route in the TruckSmarter app, they receive a unique fuel discount code to use at the pump. Payments are then handled in the app.
“TruckSmarter’s app makes it easy for our customers to fuel up without needing a fuel card and Maverik is proud to be TruckSmarter’s first c-store to offer complete in-app payment, further streamlining transactions for our customers,” Cate said.
Founded in 2021, TruckSmarter now has 125,000 drivers in its network. The company’s initial investors included the CEOs of DoorDash and supply chain management company Flexport.
“This partnership is a natural fit for TruckSmarter who shares Maverik’s commitment to quality, value, and convenience,” Dan Kao, CEO and co-founder of TruckSmarter, said in the announcement. “Not only will our customers be able to fuel up at Maverik stops, they'll also be able to experience the great service that Maverik is known for.”
Salt Lake City, Utah-based Maverik operates more than 400 convenience stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The retailer is expanding to Montana in 2024, and will have a footprint that includes over 800 locations across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions once its acquisition of Kum & Go closes.
