Leo’s Market & Eatery has named Damian Wyatt as its vice president of retail, purchasing and merchandising, Wyatt said in a LinkedIn post earlier this month. He takes that role after 17 years with MAPCO, where he most recently served as director of merchandise sales and category management.
“As some of you are aware I have decided to leave MAPCO,” Wyatt said in the post. “It was a tough decision, one which involved the perfect opportunity for me in my next chapter.”
Wyatt began his time with MAPCO as director of operations in 2006, when he was responsible for 140 c-stores in parts of Tennessee and Kentucky, according to his LinkedIn profile. After more than five years in that role, he took over as category manager for beverages, leading projects such as the introduction of its to-go growler program, before taking the director position in 2016.
Prior to joining MAPCO, Wyatt did multi-year stints with Thorntons as a regional retail sales manager and with GasAmerica Services — which was later sold to Speedway — as a district manager.
Greenfield, Indiana-based Leo’s Market & Eatery is run by Keith White and Stephanie White-Longworth, the previous principals of GasAmerica Services, according to Leo’s website.
As Wyatt joins the four-location chain, whose stores are all centered around Indianapolis, he included a call-out to the convenience store chain where he spent over a decade and a half.
“Thank you all who have been such great friends, colleagues and partners through all the years with so many fond memories,” he said in his post.
