Kwik Trip has tapped Relex Solutions, an AI-driven supply chain and retail planning platform, to help handle the planograms and inventory for all its c-stores.
Working with more than 3,500 stock-keeping units and 20 planning categories across nearly 850 stores, Kwik Trip will implement automated planograms, floor planning and supply chain optimization solutions from Relex Solutions. Additionally, Kwik Trip will use Relex Solutions’ in-store mobile solution, which gives staff a greater view of store-level order proposals, planograms and floor plans.
Previously, Kwik Trip handled its planograms and inventory forecasting and replenishment through legacy systems and spreadsheets. By using Relex Solutions, Kwik Trip aims to improve sales, inventory management and operational efficiency, as well as reduce manual efforts in both stores and head office locations, the companies said in a joint announcement.
Kwik Trip was drawn to Relax Solutions because the platform allows for flexible interaction between operations and merchandising teams, said Jake Vogel, director of category management and procurement for Kwik Trip, in the announcement.
“We run a lean operation at Kwik Trip and need our planograms and demand forecasts to be both precise and easy to use for our central planners and store employees alike,” he said.
Helsinki, Finland-based Relex Solutions was founded in 2005. The company works with brands in a variety of industries, from convenience and grocery to e-commerce and specialty retail. Relex Solutions first started working with c-stores when it partnered with Circle K in 2016. Since then, Relex Solutions has worked with Kum & Go, Sheetz and now Kwik Trip.
Kwik Trip, based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is one of the largest c-store operators in the U.S. The company runs stores under the Kwik Trip and Kwik Star banners in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, and recently announced its expansion to Michigan.
