Dive Insight:
Krispy Krunchy Chicken has announced a number of firsts so far in 2025. In addition to debuting in Montana, the company also introduced chicken nuggets to the lineup in February and made its first Major League Baseball partnership in March with the Boston Red Sox. Krispy Krunchy’s nuggets and chicken sandwiches are now on the menu at Fenway Park in Boston.
"We are proud and excited to enter new territory with our Montana opening,” said Jim Norberg, CEO of Krispy Krunchy Chicken. “Our sights keep getting bigger, and our loyal customers and dedicated operators are truly leading the way for our incredible growth.”
The company opened 605 locations in 2024 and plans to open at least that many in 2025, which would put it high on the list of biggest U.S. chicken concepts. Popeyes has over 3,100 U.S. locations, while KFC boasts more than 4,100.
Krispy Krunchy, which has more than 3,200 locations in the U.S., offers a menu of chicken nuggets, tenders and bone-in pieces, as well as chicken sandwiches and sides. While largely known for its convenience store partnerships, it can also be found in places like universities and casinos.
Although primarily known as a farm and ranch supply company, Town & Country Supply Association operates seven convenience stores across Montana, according to its website. Besides Billings and Bridger, its stores are also in Laurel and Hardin.
