Global Partners President and CEO Eric Slifka has been named chairman of the board, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Slifka takes the role after his uncle, Richard Slifka, passed away in May after spending the past 11 years as chairman. He was 85.
Global Partners also added Thomas Jalkut to the board on May 25 and named him vice chairman, according to the SEC filing.
Jalkut has served as a partner in Nutter McClennen and Fish LLP’s private client department since 1985. He’s a principal of Nutter Investment Advisors and has served as a trustee of more than 300 private trusts, according to the filing. He has also earned around $734,000 in legal fees from Global Partners since January 2024.
These changes follow a strong first quarter in which Global Partners saw a more than 60% increase in EBITDA year over year. Slifka said during the earnings call that Global Partners is now looking to potentially make an acquisition.
