Fresh Stop convenience stores has named Matt Pickelsimer as president and Kelly Bacon as chief financial officer, the company announced on Monday.
As president, Pickelsimer will “oversee Fresh Stop’s strategic growth initiatives, drive operational efficiency and strengthen the company’s focus on customer experience,” according to the announcement. He brings over two decades of leadership experience spanning the c-store, restaurant and car wash industries to Fresh Stop, which is preparing for an expansion after debuting its inaugural locations earlier this year.
That experience most recently included spearheading sales and operations at car subscription service Mammoth Holdings, where Pickelsimer led a 155-store portfolio, according to the announcement. His c-store experience includes nearly six years in fuel pricing and market management roles with 7-Eleven as well as nearly three years as director of sales and operations at Murphy USA.
Pickelsimer has also held operations-focused leadership roles with Taco Bell, Dollar General and automotive company Driven Brands.

“I’m honored to join the talented team at Fresh Stop and excited about the opportunity to continue building something great,” Pickelsimer said in the announcement. “I look forward to helping the company deliver consistent excellence across all locations.”
Meanwhile, Bacon joins Fresh Stop after spending nearly five years as a controller with The Wills Group, parent of Dash In convenience stores. Prior to that, she was director of accounting for East Coast c-store retailer Royal Farms for five years.
Bacon brings expertise in financial reporting, automation and building high-performing teams, according to the announcement. She’s also experienced in implementing new enterprise accounting systems and supporting mergers and acquisitions.
Greenville, South Carolina-based Fresh Stop owns about 30 convenience stores across four states, with all but seven listed as “coming soon” on the retailer’s website. Its portfolio includes roughly 15 c-stores in Florida, 10 in Texas, four in Arkansas and one in Oklahoma.
