As Alimentation Couche-Tard moves forward with its plan to outsource its information technology services, some of the convenience retailer’s team members may be moving from Couche-Tard to the new IT company.
CGI, the global intelligence and consulting firm that will manage the retailer’s IT services for the next decade, will offer employment to “corresponding” team members from Couche-Tard’s global technology division, a Couche-Tard spokesperson confirmed. Employment at CGI will also be offered to Couche-Tard contractors working with its global tech team in North America and Europe.
Couche-Tard expects this transition to be completed before the end of the year, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson declined to disclose which employees — as well as how many team members — within Couche-Tard’s global technology team will be offered employment at CGI. However, they noted that “all employees” within the business functions Couche-Tard has tapped CGI for will be offered employment.
According to the announcement of the partnership, those “mission-critical business functions” include Couche-Tard’s store manager experience, business process automation and innovation, and data access and visibility.
According to its website, Couche-Tard is hiring for several roles within its global technology team. Some of those openings in the U.S. include senior business analyst; senior manager of global identity management; IT analyst for retail systems engineering; and customer experience technology senior solution architect.
Last week, Couche-Tard announced this 10-year, $281 million strategic partnership to outsource its IT services to CGI. Couche-Tard said at the time this deal aims to help improve its customer and employee experience, accelerate speed and quality to market, access broad technical skills and expertise and provide support for its key business strategies.
