Dive Insight:
As Casey’s makes a big move into the south after its CEFCO acquisition last year, it’s also been expanding its foodservice options beyond its signature pizza. The retailer added new sandwiches in March 2024 and announced in December that it would be testing a combined Casey’s and CEFCO kitchen in some locations.
The five sauced wing flavors are garlic parmesan, which uses a dry rub with Casey’s signature cheese blend; BBQ, featuring Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce; sweet chili, which includes chili pepper, ginger and garlic flavors; Buffalo, which uses aged cayenne pepper; and mango habanero, which gives customers a sweet-and-spicy combo. Wings come in 10-, 15- and 20-piece options, or in a 5-piece meal combo with fries.
In addition to the regular and parmesan fries, which are on Casey’s menu for the first time, the retailer has also added a house-made ranch dipping sauce.
“We’re eager to see the guest response in the Des Moines market,” said Brad Haga, senior vice president of prepared food and dispensed beverages at Casey’s, in the announcement.
Casey’s did not reply by press time when asked if it hopes to add the new menu offering in additional markets.
The Italian deli pizza comes in thin crust or traditional varieties and is topped with mozzarella, salami, bacon, banana peppers and parmesan. The sliders use King’s Hawaiian rolls and contain all the same toppings.
