Dive Brief:
- BP has partnered with commerce platform Wex on a new fleet card, the companies announced last week.
- The Earnify fleet card offers users fuel discounts and rebates at more than 8,000 of BP’s gas stations, including Amoco, TravelCenters of America and Petro, according to the announcement. Thorntons is expected to be added to the program in 2026, according to BP’s website.
- This expands BP’s Earnify ecosystem following the release of its Earnify loyalty program in October 2024, which replaced a variety of disparate rewards programs across BP’s many retail banners.
Dive Insight:
BP’s Earnify fleet card aims to attract fleets by not only including thousands of fueling locations but covering numerous driving-related expenses. In addition to fuel, users can pay for parts and service, tolls, car washes, parking and roadside assistance. Companies can set purchase controls if they want.
The card also features a chip for additional fraud protection.
“By creating a new card program that brings together all of our fuel brands — bp, Amoco, TA, Petro, and TA Express — we’re making it easier than ever for fleet customers of all sizes to fuel, save, and stay loyal across our entire network,” said Debi Boffa, CEO of TravelCenters of Americas and BP’s vice president of fleet mobility.
Drivers can sign up for the Earnify rewards program and earn points on their personal account when using the fleet card.
At the same time that it’s building out its Earnify ecosystem, BP has been trimming its staffing, with plans to cut 5% of its workforce this year. Those cuts included the departure of Jack Benoff, the company’s director of digital and loyalty for its U.S. convenience stores, who developed the company’s Earnify loyalty program.
