The c-store industry started off 2025 with a flurry of executive moves. 7-Eleven added a new member of the C-suite and BP and Gate Petroleum both promoted two employees to new roles. Meanwhile, leaders left EG America and BP to take on other roles.
Parker’s Kitchen also confirmed that its president, Brandon Hofmann, is expected to become the company’s next CEO, though that change doesn’t have a timeline yet.
Below is more information on last month’s exec shuffling. And here’s our executive roundup from December, in case you missed it.
7-Eleven names chief information security officer
7-Eleven named Jim Kastle as chief information security officer.
Kastle has more than 20 years of corporate IT and risk management experience, having served as chief information security officer for automotive technology firm Delphi, CPG food giant Conagra Brands and consumer goods and personal care company Kimberly-Clark.
Information security and cybersecurity are becoming increasingly important in the c-store space. Pennsylvania-based Wawa has paid out tens of millions of dollars in negligence claims since a data breach in 2019, and Gas Express, the largest Circle K franchisee in the U.S., is currently under fire for allegedly not informing employees for months that their data was hacked.
BP names 2 new department heads
BP promoted Joseph Fumo to head of digital for BP North America and Alyssa Callahan to head of marketing, mobility and convenience for the Americas.
Fumo joined BP in 2006 as part of the company’s post-graduate program, and worked his way through roles in the company’s U.S. electronic payment operations and consumer card portfolio and fuels team before becoming director of consumer loyalty for the U.S. in 2021.
Callahan first joined BP in November 2023 as vice president of marketing for TravelCenters of America, and was promoted to her new position this past December.
Before joining BP, Callahan worked in marketing and loyalty roles across a number of industries, including beauty products company L’Oréal, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Toys R Us.
Gate Petroleum promotes 2 execs
Gate Petroleum promoted Misty Jackson Skipper to the newly created role of chief strategy officer and John Cockerham to senior vice president of operations and merchandising.
Skipper first joined Gate Petroleum as vice president of marketing and communications in 2016, and was promoted to vice president of merchandising, marketing and external affairs in 2020. She has also held communications roles with advertising firm Dalton, rail company CSX and the city of Jacksonville, Florida.
In her new role, Skipper leads strategic development and implementation and the company’s real estate development division, and handles Gate’s marketing, communications and government affairs.
Cockerham, who was most recently VP of operations for Gate Petroleum, joined the company in 2021. He’s now responsible for leading Gate stores’ category management, pricing and inventory management and internal distribution center teams, in addition to overseeing its c-store operations in Florida and foodservice programs.
BP’s VP of merchandising joins Amazon Go
Kimberly James left her role as BP’s vice president of merchandising to become head of category management for Amazon Go.
James joined BP in late 2022 as vice president of merchandising and became the company’s chief product officer in March of last year, according to her LinkedIn page.
Prior to joining BP, James held many roles across two decades with Alimentation Couche-Tard, parent of Circle K convenience stores, including director of marketing, senior director of global brand management and head of global center of excellence for merchandising and marketing.
James said in a LinkedIn announcement that she’ll be leading Amazon Go’s U.S. convenience categories.
EG America chief real estate officer retires
Thomas R. Cacciola retired from his role as chief real estate officer for EG America, which operates over 1,500 c-stores under several brands including Cumberland Farms, Minit Mart and Tom Thumb.
Cacciola spent more than three decades working for Cumberland Farms. He began as a district sales manager with that company in 1990, and served in a series of sales and facilities support and management roles before taking over as vice president of real estate, construction, facility services and environmental in 2018.
Cacciola also played a major role in EG America’s acquisition of Cumberland Farms in 2019, and was promoted to senior vice president and chief real estate officer of the new parent company in 2020.
In the wake of his retirement, Cacciola took over as CEO of fuel equipment distributor The Kennedy Company on Jan. 6.
